Do a free security checkup
Big companies build a guided checkup right into your account. It reviews your settings, flags anything risky in plain language, and it's free.
First, which account?
Open your Google Account
Sign in to Gmail, tap your picture in the top corner, and choose Manage your Google Account.

If your screen looks a little different, don't worry. Companies move these menus around. Look for the same words — "Security" and "Checkup" are what you're after.
